Sulawesi; one of four larger islands in Indonesia archipelago, located on the eastern of Kalimantan, recognized from its distinctive shape, dominated narrow peninsulas. It has colorful cultures and traditions. One of these is ancient funeral ritual which is still practiced by people of Toraja who dwell the highland of South  Sulawesi.

The city of Makassar or previously called Ujung Pandang use to be one of very important port in Asia as transit area for European traders during the glorious of spices hunting. Due to its unique bio-geogrpahical position, flora and fauna of Sulawesi are distinctively compared  to other islands in Indonesia and can only be found on this island such Anoa and Babirusa including a number of birds such as maleos, horbills, and kingsfishers.
