Bandanaira Exploration

Bandanaira used to be one of very important islands in Indonesia archipelago during spice trade era. European sailed across the ocean to try their luck in spice trading. European countries such as Holland, Portuguese and British has spent a big effort to occupy this area in order to monopoly and control all trading activities. On this journey you will explore the remains of the victory from spice trade era. Bandanaira offers historical and nature exploration.

Day 1: Arrival Ambon-HotelArrive the capital city of Mollucass – Ambon , we pick up the guest at the airport to hotel. Free afternoon program by exploring surrounding areas . Overnight at Baguala Bay Resort Hotel.  (LD)

Day 2: Ambon-BandanairaTransfer to the harbor, go on board Pelni passenger ship at 08.00 pm. This is Germany made ship ordered by Indonesian Government special to transport passengers and goods around Indonesia archipelago. On its fully loaded the ship can carry up to 1,000 – 1,500 passenger depending on the ship size. There are several different classes on the boat, start from economic class where passenger will stay on a big hall up to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and VIP Class. Boat trip from Ambon to Banda takes about 8 hours. This is a good time to have interaction with local passenger. To be honest probably not many passengers can speak English but many can still understand simple English. Arrival in Bada by the late afternoon. You will have free program in the afternoon to explore surrounding areas. Stay for overnight on the ship (BLD)

Day 3: BandanairaMorning tour a medieval heritage include visit to the 17th century Dutch fort Belgica and Nassau, 18th colonial church and the former place of Dutch governor. Continue by boat excursion to Lontor village visiting Fort Hollandia, a nutmeg plantation and warehouse. Picnic lunch en-route on the beach including swimming and snorkeling. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight. (BLD)

Day 4: BandanairaEarly start to climb Gunung Api (an active volcano) to enjoy sunrise from its top. Scenic cruising around the Gunung Api. Stop at Naira Island, laze on the beach or snorkel. Late afternoon back to hotel for dinner and overnight. (BLD)

Day 5: BandanairaAfter breakfast go to Karnopol island (behind of Banda Besar) and snorkling. Back to Pisang island, have lunch there, barbeque on the beach, snorkeling in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel (BLD)

Day 6: Bandanaira-AmbonFree program in the morning. Depart by Pelni ship or flight back to Ambon in the afternoon. Check in Baguala Bay Resort. (BLD)

Day 7: Ambon SightseeingAfter breakfast Commence with visiting Soya village. Exploring the village’s sacred sites, an old Church, and Raja’s house then proceed to Waai village to see a villager feeds eela with chicken and Liang beach to see performance of crazy bamboo. Return via Karang Panjang for viewing the panorama of Ambon city from the statue of Ambonnese heroin Martha Christina Tiahahu. Stay for overnight at Baguala Bay Resort. (BLD)

Day 8: Ambon-Nest DestinationsTranfer to the airport  and fly to the next destinations. Journey ends (B)
